Alicia Griffiths -harp- and Marta Ramírez -violin- set up the Alma Duo when they arrived in London in 2010. These two young musicians from Navarre (northern Spain) combine their experience with orchestras and as soloists with a shared passion for chamber music. They have performed in recitals, community projects and other events in both Spain and the UK. Alicia and Marta are also very interested in educational projects and interdisciplinary collaborations with all kinds of artists.
The Alma Duo is trained by well-known teachers from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, among them the harpist Gabriella Dall'Olio, the violinist Clare Thompson and the violist Nic Pendlebury. They have taken part in master classes with the Italian harpist Anna Loro and the Israeli harpist Sivan Magen.
Forthcoming engagements of the Alma Duo include recitals in Spain and London, with repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to French Romanticism, 20th-Century Nationalisms and Contemporary music. In December 2013 they will perform a recital at St James’s Picadilly supported by the Iberian and Latinoamerican Music Society (ILAMS).
